The person I chose to feature in my summary is a well-known actor Billy Porter who is also the first openly black gay man who has won a Primetime Emmy award in lead acting. Billy Porter has been an all-time favorite actor for me, I used to be so in tuned with law and order and watched him act for one of their episodes, and ever since then I have always enjoyed watching him whether it be in movies or on social media. He is such a free spirit and has a very powerful influence on the LGBT community. While completing this assignment I did some research on Billy Porter and learned that he was sexually abused by his stepfather it wasn't until today that I found out this information and this not only saddens me but allows me to understand him a bit more.
